Always liked the Henohenomoheji faces (or whatever the international equivalent is) that pop up from time to time.
But yeah, portals. Who knew the human world had such unique innovations as Thursday Night Football or Star Wars? Still, the dangers inherent to them I will attribute to an old video game quote:
“If I tell you more, you will look where you could never look before… and while you are looking, you can and will be seen… You do not want to be seen.”
A games-master was brought into the Land not because they were supposed to wipe enemies out, but an external fix to balance the system of the game so the Brain’s influence wasn’t so widespread.
Much like the Phantom Menace, when the Jedi council talks of how young Skywalker is to balance the Force… note that in that movie, the Jedi council was the dominant governing body; “balancing” would mean wiping out a bunch of them to make room for added Sith.
So in a way, Metafoblin was helping… by drawing in the embers of a raging forest fire.
