Everyone’s favorite MacGuffins, the Chaos Stars, have returned! You remember the Chaos Stars, right? They were all over the World 3 arc – enough so that I didn’t bother pointing to a specific story in the Editor’s Note from today’s comic. (Speaking of, I’m making a promise to myself to stop injecting those dumb things into comics, even though they’re very fun (on account of they make me feel like Stan Lee)).

Anyway, the chaos continues outside the comic also, as I continue struggling to play catchup from having lost the use of my tablet in the middle of working on this chapter – you might have noticed that today’s comic went up like 18 hours later than it normally does. Odds are pretty good that I’ll have to push Wednesday’s page to next week! But I’ll try to post something here in any case. As always, your patience is appreciated! 🙏

Long story short, some recent technical issues (on roughly the order of My Tablet Stopped Working) caused me to lose a bunch of time and resulted in me having no buffer to fall back on for this story. I’ve been doing the best I can to keep updating on the razor’s edge, but it’s unfortunately caught up to me and I need to take a little bit of a breather. Sorry about that! Comics will resume next week at the latest.

On a brighter note, here’s a new look at the other big project I’ve been working on –

RESERVOIR KONGS, a new Badnix story, has finally begun! You… you probably noticed that already, huh?

To refresh your memory – this is picking up where we left Rog near the beginning of the Candy Hearts story, with Rog filling in for Mr. Fir as Boss of Wood World. Barrels of monkeys become involved at some point! We know this much. But HOW?

Here’s a bit more of a deep cut reference – that power transferral ritual we see at the start of today’s comic? We saw that before, way back when Rog first got promoted to Mini-Boss. Rog wound up growing a flashing weak point the last time that happened, so his latest concerns are kind of valid. We’ll see how it pans out!

Just wanted to post a quick status update about the next batch of comics – sorry they’re taking so long!

In addition to Rog & Roll kind of blowing up way beyond my expectations, and the typical freelance stuff chipping away at my time, this storyline has just… proven to be way harder to plot out than I expected. It was originally going to be a B-plot of the Arika/Food World story, and making it work as its own thing has wound up being more challenging than I though. But! I am working hard on it.

So yeah, I haven’t forgotten about Badnix! It’s more important to me than ever. But that also means I want to make it better than ever! Hopefully I will have some good stuff to share soon.
