Sluri’s tournament saga is ending for now – but we will definitely be coming back to it later! Will our heroine’s luck hold out? Will new friendships and rivalries bloom in the heat of battle? Will the correct grammatical usage of “jabroni” be explored unto exhaustion? The answer to at least 2 of these questions is “yes, probably”.
I really wanted this story to be something really big and special and different… did everything I tried work? PROBABLY NOT! But I enjoyed the challenge and the change of pace. I hope you did too!
That said, despite all the preparation I did for this story, it really wound up kicking my teeth in. I am super burned out! Also I have a bunch of non-Badnix projects descending on me like ravenous deadline-vultures. So, I think I need to take a lil’ break. We’ll probably pick up with the next story sometime in July, but keep an eye out for blog posts & some fun filler stuff in the meantime.
The next story is a really, really fun one, starring a character who hasn’t shown up on-panel in ages! Caaan’t wait~
I keep forgetting your strip evolved into a comic; the punchline doesn’t always appear at the end, and often I should be looking forward to when the chapter finishes so I can go over the entire run. (That said… the mysterious ninja couriers hold a potential “extras joke” emphasizing the lag traditional hand-delivered invites have over e-mail.)
Also, getting trained by a self-proclaimed masochist might give an-already-unstable action-girl some more issues.
